Cotton spandex is a soft, breathable knit fabric made primarily from cotton with a small amount of spandex for added stretch, comfort, and shape retention.
Double brushed polyester (DBP) is prized for its buttery-soft feel and luxurious comfort. Brushed on both sides for an exceptionally smooth finish, this lightweight knit offers generous four-way stretch, excellent recovery, and a fluid drape that flatters every silhouette. It’s breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and easy to maintain, making it a favorite for dresses.
Single brushed polyester (SBP) offers a soft, comfortable feel with a brushed finish on one side and a smooth knit surface on the other. This lightweight polyester-spandex blend features four-way stretch, excellent recovery, and a flattering drape that moves with you. Wrinkle-resistant and easy to maintain, it’s a versatile choice for tops, dresses, leggings, skirts, children’s clothing, and everyday wear.
DTY has a smooth, silky finish, while Double Brushed Poly has the same great stretch and drape with an ultra-soft, brushed finish on both sides. If you love a sleek feel, choose DTY. If you want maximum softness, choose Double Brushed Poly.
Poly Pinstripe is a lightweight 100% polyester fabric featuring fine vertical ribs that create the look of delicate pinstripes. Similar in appearance to a petite rib knit, its subtle texture adds depth and visual interest while maintaining a smooth, refined finish. Lightweight yet opaque, it offers excellent coverage without being bulky and drapes beautifully, making it an ideal choice for summer dresses. When sewing Poly pinstripe always use a fine, sharp needle. A larger needle can damage the fabric and cause it to run or snag, resulting in visible imperfections.
